The Health Retreat

The Health Retreat is a residential program located in Queensland, Australia, set close to national parks in the woods. It offers a 29-day program that utilizes both clinical and holistic approaches to address addiction and overall wellbeing. The program is open to men and women dealing with drug and alcohol addictions as well as co-occurring mental health disorders, and does not offer support for the 12-Step program. It has a team of professionals including psychologists, licensed psychotherapists and CSACs, with a staff-to-client ratio of 1-to-1, who offer evidence-based treatments such as rational emotional therapy (REBT), emotional freedom technique (EFT), psychodynamic processing, gestalt therapy, clinical hypnosis, narrative therapy, and group and individual therapy. They also provide alternative and homeopathic therapies such as Tai Chi, yoga, art, music, pet and dance therapy. Accommodation includes two main houses, converted train carriages and individual cabins. All bedrooms are private and come with a private bathroom, and facilities onsite include a gym, pool, hot tub and sauna. The chefs provide organic, gluten, dairy, sugar and caffeine-free meals, and clients may attend weekly health cooking classes with them.
