Located in between San Francisco and San Jose, Center for Discovery Menlo Park is a residential treatment facility that offers specialized care for adolescents aged 10 to 18 struggling with eating disorders, substance abuse disorder, and co-occurring disorders. With only 6 patients at a time, the Path to Peace program offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Family therapy is a weekly part of treatment, along with trauma therapy, mindful movement therapy, and drama therapy. Right down the street from prestigious Stanford University Medical Center, their staff works closely with their affiliate medical team. Besides residential, PHP, and IOP, Center for Discovery also has an online Telehealth program. They emphasize four key concepts of Health at Every Size (HAES), Intuitive Eating, All Foods Fit, and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP). They accept private insurance.
