Polaris Teen Center is dedicated to providing adolescents with a safe haven for recovery and believes that teen mental health issues can have multiple causes such as trauma, biology, and environment. The center is staffed by clinical professionals who are highly trained to treat a range of disorders, including depression, bipolar, anxiety, as well as self-harm, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Polaris Teen’s approach is evidence-based and includes using methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Post Induction Therapy, Family System Therapy, and Psychoeducational Group Therapy. Additionally, experiential therapies such as surfing, yoga, brain spotting, mindfulness, martial arts, physical exercise, somatic experiencing, creative arts, art therapy, and recreational activities like hiking and swimming are also available. Polaris Teen Center’s medical team consists of Doctors of Psychology, Medicine in Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology and Pediatrics. Licensed therapists such as Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT) are also employed at the center. Facilities at Polaris Teen Center include two residential homes, East Tarzana and West Tarzana. Both locations have been renovated and feature shared bedrooms, bathrooms, and living and dining spaces. West Tarzana’s Mediterranean-style home offers a panoramic balcony, large pool, hot tub, and walk-in closets, plus a private on-site chef. East Tarzana’s New England-style home has a California twist and includes a private chef, spa, and private terraces. Both locations are gated and secure.
