At Newport Institute, we offer gender-specific treatment for young adults ages 18 to 28 who struggle with mental health issues and co-occurring disorders. Our comprehensive treatment program includes clinical, experiential, vocational, and educational aspects that have been proven to be effective in helping young people achieve long-lasting mental health. Our individual and group therapy approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Attachment-based Family Therapy (ABFT), are tailored to each patient’s needs. In addition, we provide our residents with nutrition education, body image group, and other creative arts modalities such as music and visual art. Our Southern Connecticut campus is located in a comfortable and inviting home-like setting that is conveniently close to the Connecticut shoreline and easily reachable from the New York metropolitan area. With 30 hours of clinical and experiential care, as well as 20 hours devoted to academics within a day, we provide young adults the opportunity to work through treatment in a safe, supportive environment. We also provide life and academic skills that will help them transition into their new futures. Furthermore, vocational assistance is offered to older patients as they move from school into work, so that they can develop their executive skills and motivation. If college is the goal, we help our clients set and maintain their goals so that they achieve success. Our mission is to help young adults have fulfilling, happy lives, and we do that through compassionate care of the mind, body and spirit.
