Silver Hill Hospital

Silver Hill Hospital is a non-profit, independent facility that provides specialized treatment for psychiatric and addictive disorders. Located atop a hill in Canaan, Connecticut, Silver Hill offers three levels of care, including inpatient, transitional living, and intensive outpatient programming. Their individualized, unique treatment plans are tailored to meet the needs of each patient and offer a wide variety of traditional and alternative therapies such as acupuncture, acupressure, massage, mat pilates, Tai Chi, yoga, and much more. The expansive 19-acre property contains five distinct homes that cater to adults, adolescents, individuals with addiction and co-occurring disorders, as well as those with psychotic disorders. Every home is full of modern, cozy furnishings and provides a home-like atmosphere rather than a hospital-like environment. Clients can stay for as little as five days, or choose to progress to the 42 day transitional living program. Personal cell phones and computers are not allowed, however they will have access to iPads and computers, as well as a library.
