Nextep provides outpatient drug abuse treatment and recovery houses to assist individuals in overcoming addiction and transitioning to independent living. Clinics are based in Fort Myers, Florida, and the 12-step philosophy and rules are implemented in the program. Services offered include mental health care, practical drug and alcohol recovery, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), all under the supervision of experts. Furthermore, nine gender-specific residences are available in Lee County in peaceful residential neighborhoods in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Clients of the sober living program must follow a set of curfews, drug testing, and policies, maintain financial responsibility, and perform weekly household duties. Experiential activities, such as kayaking, ropes course, art therapy, equine therapy, and boating, are also available through Nextep. Joint Commission accredited, the organization accepts insurance and provides a six-month supported living environment.
