At Center for Discovery’s Montverde, Florida location, adolescents ages 9-17 can get help overcoming their struggles with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. By providing evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure & response prevention (ERP), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family therapy, expressive arts therapy, dietary consultations, positive psychology groups, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Center for Discovery offers tailored individualized care. Furthermore, the facility has bilingual clinicians and certified eating disorder specialists, Health at Every Size (HAES)-informed clinicians, and professionals trained in various trauma focused therapies such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and traumatic incident reduction (TIR). With an eight-bed estate, Center for Discovery also offers recreational activities such as yoga, table tennis, Corn Hole, and equine therapy, as well as educational support with 20+ hours of schooling per week. Finally, Center for Discovery hosts a family program which allows loved ones to visit monthly and take part in treatment.
