Founded in 1975, MARR Addiction Treatment Centers is a private organization that provides gender-specific, long-term residential addiction treatment to men and women. MARR has two residential homes for clients in Georgia: the women’s treatment center in Lawrenceville, and the men’s treatment center in Atlanta. These residences provide intensive, high-quality rehabilitation programs through individual and group therapy such as psychiatric/clinical evaluation, addiction education, relapse prevention, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family dynamics, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), yoga, and spiritual guidance. Clients are encouraged to be part of the community with activities and groups like work/life balance and boundaries and relationships. MARR also has a disordered eating program with a registered dietician and 12-Step meetings for ED recovery. Treatment is broken down into three phases: Phase 1 is 6 weeks, Phase 2 is 8 weeks, and Phase 3 is 12 weeks or longer. Clients can enjoy amenities such as volleyball and basketball courts and go on outings to local shops and hiking. Accommodations are shared and gender-specific, and there is a strict COVID-19 protocol for testing antibodies before admitting new clients.
