Talbott Recovery opened its doors in 1989 with the mission of providing quality treatment to those struggling with alcohol and drug addictions and co-occurring mental health disorders in the Atlanta, Georgia community. The center offers a comprehensive range of evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and individual and group therapy. In addition to a main campus, Talbott Recovery also offers specialty programs for healthcare professionals, pilots, and families, as well as a mirror image program. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission and works with most major insurance companies.
The main campus of Talbott Recovery has a modern architectural design and is divided into three phases. The first phase is detox, followed by a 60-day shared apartment stay in gender-segregated units. The last phase is a mirror image program that typically lasts four and a half weeks, during which clients are given access to an apartment with a full kitchen to prepare their own meals. After treatment, Talbott Recovery creates an after-care plan, which includes support meetings, alumni events, and other alumni groups.
