‘Ai Pono Hawaii

‘Ai Pono is a premier eating disorder treatment program with over 35 years of experience. Located on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii, ‘Ai Pono offers residential, PHP, and outpatient programming for women ages 18+ to help them address their eating disorder. Utilizing a holistic approach, ‘Ai Pono focuses on the relationship between food and the eating disorder, as well as any co-occurring issues, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and body dysmorphia. Clients receive therapy 2-3 times per week, as well as psychoeducational groups, nutrition education, and trauma education, when appropriate. In addition, clients receive individual nutrition therapy with a registered dietitian once a week and meals are prepared by an in-house chef to meet the specific needs of each client. To help support the recovery process, ‘Ai Pono offers a variety of holistic therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), process groups, art therapy, EMDR, life skills, emotional freedom technique (EFT), and yoga. Family involvement is encouraged and supported. ‘Ai Pono’s beautiful setting is perfect for off-site excursions such as trips to local beaches, sacred cultural sites such as Iao Valley, Kula lavender farm, prominent shopping destinations, and more. Their private backyard beach also provides a great environment for mindful walking.
