About Serenity House

For over three decades, Serenity House has been helping adults and adolescents dealing with mental health conditions and substance abuse. They offer a wide range of treatment services including residential care, day and intensive outpatient services, DUI classes, and recovery homes. Their recovery homes are the only facility of its kind providing 90-day extended residential treatment to individuals recovering from addiction. With a holistic approach, Serenity House integrates men and women back into their lives as self-sufficient and productive members of their communities, while improving the quality of life for them and their families. Treatment includes individual and group counseling, family support such as family nights, and sober activities. The adolescent outpatient program is held each Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., where counselors offer the tools necessary for addiction recovery. In the residential program, an evidence-based curriculum of traditional talk therapy is employed. This includes group and individual treatment, support group attendance, and drug testing. Clients attend IOP programs for an average of 5–7 weeks, which consists of 20-25 sessions. Serenity House consists of seven recovery homes; four for men located in Addison, Illinois, and three for women located in Addison, Villa Park, and Naperville, Illinois. Here, clients are able to participate in a weekly 1-hour recovery management group led by peers and a counselor. This provides an open discussion platform to talk about any issues they may be facing as well as educational topics of relevance. Aftercare services are available to promote long-term recovery.
