Compass Rose Academy is a faith-based, residential boarding school that provides specialized care for girls aged 14-18 who are grappling with behavioral and emotional problems. The program combines bible studies, worship, and a Growth Model recovery approach that seeks to address the root of the symptom instead of simply reducing its symptoms. Dialectical behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), equine therapy, exercise, and overall wellness comprise the main components of the program. During the twelve-month period, parents are an integral part of the treatment, with counseling, continuous support, communication, and visitation included. Academics are held on-campus in partnership with the Church schooling curriculum, Edgenuity Virtual Academy. Licensed teachers craft individualized academic plans for each student, ensuring they meet their graduation requirements. The 800-acre campus features many recreational opportunities and activities, such as a softball field, ponds, a gym, and a swimming pool. Every student is allotted their own private bedroom, and the group usually attends concerts or other Christian events. These concerts focus on providing motivation while also being entertaining.
