The Heal for Life Foundation, founded in 1999, is a trauma-focused treatment center which specializes in using holistic approaches to treat co-occurring disorders and trauma. Their T.R.E.E. recovery paradigm (Trust, Release, Empower, Educate) focuses on creating long-lasting neurobiological changes by allowing emotions that were repressed during the trauma to be released, and acknowledges the importance of psychoanalytic, Rogerian, systemic family, transactional analysis, gestalt, and emotionally focused therapies. They do not offer group therapy in order to prevent re-traumatization or vicarious trauma. Instead, they offer peer assistance, educational seminars, and webinars.
The foundation is located on 340 acres of beautiful Australian bush land, and offers 3 private venues for recovery, including an adult healing center, a teen women’s healing center, and a teen men’s healing center. All of the facilities enjoy a peaceful natural setting with their own fresh water dam and plenty of opportunities for recreational activities, such as kayaking and walking the trails.
