For more than 135 years, Bournewood Health Systems has been dedicated to providing comprehensive and caring mental health and substance misuse treatment to adults (18+) and adolescents (12-18). Their trauma-informed, person-centered approach focuses on the individual and their needs, which is highlighted in their inpatient and outpatient services. Inpatient services include 24-hour access to a clinician and specialized group therapy sessions for young adolescents and adults. Outpatient services are available online via telehealth. Partial hospital programs are available for those who need intensive treatment, but not in a 24/7 inpatient setting. For adolescents, Bournewood’s goal is to get them back into the schooling system and, if complications persist, provide continued support from a clinician.
Bournewood operates multiple locations in Massachusetts, and also serves as a teaching hospital for medical students, psychiatric residents, social workers, nursing students, and expressive therapy students from universities in the Boston area. Additionally, Bournewood Health encourages families to become involved in the treatment process through classes and workshops, and accepts insurance.
