Located just 30 miles outside of Boston, Megan’s House is a three-story home that can house up to 28 young women at a time. Each resident is provided with therapeutic community interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy to address mental health and addiction. Additionally, education and employment coaching, along with art and equine therapies are available. Everyday, residents are taught life skills such as time management, cooking, cleaning, and communication. Meal prep is a collaborative effort, with residents making their own breakfast and lunch and dinner being prepared for them. They can also tend to the onsite vegetable garden, with produce being used for meals. Chores are rotated among the residents. The typical stay at Megan’s House is six months, but can be extended if necessary.
