The New York Center for Living is a non-profit treatment facility based in midtown Manhattan, and was established in 2007. It is the only outpatient program in New York City that caters to teenagers and young adults, helping them to make lifestyle choices that support their health and well-being, in partnership with their families, schools, employers, and communities. Services include psychiatry, individual counseling, intensive outpatient groups, peer coaching, and an alumni program. In addition, the facility’s terrace hosts outdoor cooking events, gardening, music, and other activities.
The Center also offers family treatment, acknowledging the importance of family bonds in mental health and drug abuse. They provide advice to parents, stepparents, siblings, and significant others to help improve the well-being of each family member. Clients gain access to a supportive community, where they don’t have to make their future steps alone.
