Since 2010, CooperRiis at Asheville has been offering primary mental health services to individuals dealing with bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dual-diagnoses, personality disorders, and schizophrenia. This non-profit provides a range of residential programs focused on aiding stabilization and fostering recovery. The short-term program, which typically lasts 45-90 days, can help those with mental health issues or those who are looking for a starting point for long-term recovery. CooperRiis implements wellness treatment using therapy groups, community engagement, and integrative wellness practices, such as nutrition, physical fitness, life skills, and horticulture. In doing so, they use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). With only 24 residents in the facility, a therapeutic community is available to promoting each individual’s road to restoration. Situated in the historic Montford neighborhood near downtown Asheville, this facility offers private rooms and amenities such as an art studio, horticulture room, fitness facilities, and outdoor areas. CooperRiis is accredited by CARF and in-network with Aetna. They also accept out-of-network benefits.
