Foothills at Red Oak Recovery is the perfect program for teenage boys ages 14-17 who are struggling with substance abuse, trauma, co-occurring disorders or eating disorders. Located on a 94-acre working horse farm, the program addresses the underlying causes of their symptoms, such as trauma, depression, anxiety, defiance, school avoidance, substance use and behavioral addictions like gaming. The program utilizes a holistic approach, which includes traditional group and individual therapies as well as equine therapy, ropes course, adventure activities, sports, yoga and mindfulness. Their “developmental approach normalizes underlying challenges while holding individuals accountable for their choices.” In addition to therapy, the program also includes an on-site school with in-house teachers, helping the teens continue their education during treatment. Foothills at Red Oak Recovery strives to help teenage boys out of this difficult time in their lives and into a better future.
