Southwood Psychiatric Hospital is a mental health facility with over 30 years of experience, providing comprehensive and compassionate treatment for adolescents and young adults who are struggling with mental health concerns. They specialize in treating a variety of co-occurring and developmental issues that may be impacting the individual’s condition. Southwood’s approach to care begins with an extensive admissions process that helps to determine which program and therapies work best for the individual. Evidence-based treatments such as individual and group therapy, as well as experiential therapies such as yoga, art, and music, are offered in order to provide the most effective treatment. In addition, patients have various outdoor activities available for them throughout their course of treatment, and families are kept updated and actively involved. Southwood offers three types of treatment programs: an inpatient program for those with mental health disorders between the ages of 4-18, an IDD and ASD program for males between the ages of 6-21, and a CHOICES 5 treatment program for males between the ages of 10-21 suffering from acute mental health issues and sexual addiction. Southwood also offers a Family Stabilization Aftercare Program which provides 24/7 on-call support to families in crisis with at-risk youth, as well as treatment and family support that may include assistance with co-occurring substance misuse.
