Waypoint Recovery Center

The Waypoint Recovery Center is a structured program in Cameron, South Carolina that specializes in the treatment of co-occurring medical conditions and substance use disorders. Their program begins with a preliminary clinical assessment and biopsychosocial screening. Although they do not offer detox, they can direct clients to nearby resources if necessary. Individual therapy focuses on evidence-based techniques such as CBT and DBT while group therapy provides psychoeducation and covers topics such as life skills, emotional processing, trigger identification, relapse prevention, and mindfulness exercises. Clients must attend on-site 12-Step meetings or SMART recovery sessions once per week. Holistic therapies like art therapy, journaling, and meditation are also offered. The facility is nestled on 50 private acres and offers 35 separate beds with rustic log cabin-like decorations. Besides the sleeping quarters, there are several large meeting rooms, an exercise room, a fully-equipped kitchen, and common areas with cable TV and WiFi. Three meals a day plus snacks are provided. The Waypoint Recovery Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and accepts most private insurance.
