Since 1995, The Phoenix House in Austin has sought to heal individuals, families, and communities affected by substance use disorders and other related mental health conditions. They offer a variety of drug and alcohol prevention and treatment services, including residential addiction treatment and outpatient counseling for teens aged 13-18. Residential treatment is provided in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood and consists of a 30 day program based on a strengths-based, person-centered, and holistic approach. The program incorporates 12-Step work, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed therapy to address underlying co-occurring issues. Case management and medical, mental, and psychiatric evaluations and treatments are also available. The facility is modern and comfortable, with shared bedrooms and ample storage space. Common areas, a fitness area, and a music room with instruction from a professional musician are also available. For this, Phoenix House Texas was voted Best Addiction Treatment Center in 2020 by Newsweek.
