About The Prairie Recovery

The Prairie Recovery Center, located 90 minutes away from Houston and San Antonio Texas, offers a serene setting on 46 acres of lush green fields. The center consists of a restored 1800s farmhouse, comfortable residential cabins with panoramic views, and a host of master’s and doctoral level clinicians, psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and a functional medicine nurse practitioner, all specialized in treating addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. At The Prairie Recovery, the clients have the opportunity to determine their own path to recovery by choosing a program that best fits their needs: the 12-Step Program, SMART Recovery, or Refuge Recovery. Nutrition is an important aspect in the process, the center offering meals prepared by Chef Lance Fegen who combines mindfulness, herbalism, Buddhist, Ayurvedic, and other practices into his culinary creations. Clients can also enjoy peaceful walks or relax on the beautiful wrap around porch of the farmhouse, admiring the natural beauty of the wildlife and the extensive property.
