At Balance House, we offer an individualized, trauma-informed treatment program for young adult men seeking assistance with substance abuse, mental health, and life struggles. We offer clients a special approach to treatment that is centered around experiential activities, sports and recreation to aid in strengthening interpersonal skills, building sober networks, and developing coping strategies.
Upon entering the program, each client will receive a longboard, to which they will be responsible for customizing and designing. Through the process, clients will learn the importance of taking ownership of their own identity and will be encouraged to take full advantage of our full-moon longboarding and other outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, boating, and paddle boarding (depending on the season).
To ensure an all-encompassing approach to treatment, each client’s plan will include nutritional guidance, exercise, sleep, connection, diagnostics, family engagement, and medication management (MAT) as needed. Clients will also have access to our on-site recreational area, therapeutic groups, and the possibility to join local sports teams.
Balance House provides care that is beyond the realm of traditional inpatient treatment, and we are an out-of-network provider. We accept private payments as well as work with some insurances. Generally, treatment at Balance House will last four months.
