Star Guides Wilderness is a unique and Joint Commission accredited treatment program designed to help adolescents struggling with sexual and other addictions, as well as co-occurring disorders. The program is offered in gender-specific small groups, providing individualized support and supervision. During the 100-120 day wilderness camping program, teens unplug from technology and learn responsibility by setting up camp, preparing their own meals, and caring for their own gear. Group hiking allows for physical and mental challenges and exploration of Utah’s scenic high desert. Through the program’s three phases, teens also learn important wilderness and survival skills like building shelters, cooking over fire, and tying knots. Therapy-oriented activities such as writing an autobiography, compiling a sexual history, and participating in group and individual therapy sessions are also required. Star Guides Wilderness accepts insurance and provides the care and guidance needed for lasting recovery.
