Clementine Twin Lakes is a residential treatment center for adolescent girls ages 13-17 who are struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and exercise addiction. They utilize evidence-based therapies such as 1-on-1 therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and life skills training to promote recovery. Clients practice skills such as journaling, time management, chores, decision making, and handling peer pressure. Additionally, families participate in weekly family therapy sessions, a weekly parent education program, family meals, or a multi-family large group.
Clementine Twin Lakes provides their clients with academic support, reintegration help, medical and psychiatric care, as well as personalized discharge plans. Clients enjoy a variety of activities such as game and movie nights, free time, pottery, jewelry making, weekly movement sessions, expressive movement therapy, and dance. They also go on outings such as museum visits or bowling and visits to grocery stores and restaurants.
The center is situated on an expansive green campus, west of Washington, DC in Clifton. It features colorful interiors, indoor and outdoor lounge spaces, shared rooms, a yoga studio, and an academic center. Clementine is Joint Commission accredited and works with various public and private insurances.
