Life Center of Galax

Life Center of Galax is a rehabilitation center located in West Galax that has been helping men and women struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders since 1973. Their holistic approach focuses on the whole person, not just the symptoms, and they provide on-site detoxification, residential rehab, opiate dependency program, young men’s program, Christian-focused program, military service, and outpatient options. In addition to various therapy methods such as reality therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), creative art therapy, equine therapy, family therapy, group and individual sessions, and recreational therapy, they also have a DUI and DWI program that use the 12-Step recovery process. The typical length of stay is 30 days and costs between $7,500-$8,900. Life Center of Galax is accredited by CARF and accepts most major insurances including Tricare and Medicaid. On site, clients can enjoy volleyball courts, basketball courts, outdoor lounge areas, and 3 nutritional meals a day. They are also near museums, shopping, and the Chestnut Creek that runs through town. Life Center of Galax is affiliated with The Jason Foundation which is committed to developing nationwide awareness and preventing youth suicide.
