Adult and Teen Challenge Great Lakes (ATCGL) is a Christian Discipleship program for women with drug and alcohol addictions. It provides a faith-based curriculum and is run as a nonprofit, so fees are very low. The program lasts one year and focuses on spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. It also offers social and educational training to help women transition into life post-addiction.
The program consists of four levels of care. Level 1 is the Recovery stage, which lasts 14 weeks and focuses on recognizing and changing destructive thought patterns, and learning coping skills to combat cravings. Level 2 is the Renewal stage, which lasts 12 weeks and focuses on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Level 3 is the Restoration and Healing stage, which lasts 12 weeks and helps participants discover purpose and build a strong foundation for a substance-free future. The final stage is the Transition stage, which is also 12 weeks and helps participants find resources for employment and housing, learn how to manage their time and resources, and become community leaders.
The primary focus of the program is on permanent recovery, no matter how long it takes.
